FSA allows Banks to Running Branchless Banking

Financial Services Authority (FSA) allows Banks to Running Branchless Banking services, despite not having a digital financial services. FSA stressed that the banks want to mitigate risk properly. FSA Chairman of the Board, Muliaman D Hadad, said, for banks that want to implement branchless banking, the bank does not have to have a digital financial services, but the bank is run branchless banking should have a clear concept of risk mitigation, given the risks inherent in a business.

"Later we will discuss who could be related to branchless banking agents with banks. This we do remember the agent bank will under the guidance, "said Hadad, in Jakarta, Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Hadad believed, without a bank service agency can expand branchless banking or financial services network throughout all levels of society. It is also in line with efforts to increase public awareness of the FSA financial services industry in Indonesia.

"Experiments prove branchless banking services information and communication technology can extend financial services to financial inclusion can be done," Hadad said.

Because of branchless banking is closely related to information technology or the telco company, it is inevitable cooperation between banks and telecommunications companies. Hadad expect, each bank is working on their own in the future cooperation with telecom companies.
