Bank Joint Venture of 3 SOEs, Will Operate Early 2015

Sinar Harapan Bali (Bank Sinar) which will be a joint bank three companies, which is expected to be fully operational in early 2015 As the three companies namely Bank Mandiri, Pos Indonesia and TASPEN.  "Insha Allah (God willing), within 1-2 months or early January can be operated," said Director of PT Pos Indonesia, Budi Setiawan, when met after the signing of the realization of the establishment of the joint venture bank in TASPEN Building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 21, 2014.


According to him, currently the bank's formation process is almost complete, yet still awaiting licensing process out of the Financial Services Authority (FSA). From a business standpoint, has been approved by the board of commissioners and shareholders.

Furthermore Budi said that the joint venture bank became the majority shareholder of Bank Sinar with a 59.6% ownership stake. While PT Pos and TASPEN each has a stake of 20.2%. As for capital, PT Pos contributed approximately Rp175 billion.

"The addition of funds to the rights issue, not yet. But later in the first year, we will check, depending on the ability of its banks later, "said Budi.

He explained that the bank's joint venture will focus on micro-finance and serve pension payments. During this time, he added, PT heading into the pension payments are large enough to reach 700 thousand people retired.

As for the initial stage, the penetration of these banks will utilize TASPEN branches. Budi hope, with the formation of the joint venture bank, PT Pos earn additional revenue of up to tens of billions of dollars in the first year, and will be even greater in the space of five years.
