Indonesian Credit Card Association (AKKI) establishes several criteria relating to restrictions on credit card ownership by Bank Indonesia (BI) as of 1 January 2015 This will be used as a benchmark AKKI if the cardholder does not shut itself of excess cards. In the BI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 1, 2014, General Manager AKKI, Steve Marta said it was still discussing the criteria that the card will be closed. in spite of this, he added, AKKI still will see the benchmark of BI.

According to him, if the terms of collectability and use, just good, it will AKKI time to take into account how long the card holdings. Steve claims, the industry has written to the card issuer associated with the customer's credit card restrictions.

Under the rules of BI, individuals with incomes of less than 3 million are not allowed to have a credit card. Individuals with incomes between Rp 3 million to Rp 10 million credit cards may have as many as four credit cards from two issuers. In terms of credit limit capped at a maximum of three times per month income.
These restrictions will be enforced effective on January 1, 2015 until that time, all card issuers are required to re-record the number of card users and update data of earnings before asking customers choose cards from two issuers only.
